out of interest V, what price tag would you put on Kouyate were he able to pass a football to another West Ham United footballer.

You don't think Payet is worth more that 25m?

Depends on the player I think. They sold Wanyama last Summer for £12m because of his contract situation - nobody could say that was a masterstroke from Southampton. I think Van Dijk is a world class defender and should be worth the prices they're talking about.

Who in our squad is genuinely worth £25m+? Cresswell, Kouyate if his form was better, that's about it imo.

Thank god it's the Sun otherwise I wouldn't take this at all seriously.

Jaye

if you're referring to van dijk it could be that people are comparing him to stone, who cost 50m, it could also be that he is a a regular international player. also top centre backs are often few and far between.

Re: Chelsea Want Antonio...???
Jaye we've always tended to undervalue our players, but that may have had more to do with the precarious position we were always in

Re: Chelsea Want Antonio...???
Why is it that when Southampton sell a player he is immediately in the £50m bracket but when we talk of the potential sell of some of our very best we think £25/£30m?

Re: Chelsea Want Antonio...???
Antonio has been our best player this year, always gives 100%, whats more he seems to be greatfull for us giving him his chance in the PL, for some players its not just about the money, I would imagine hes on 30-40k a week and due a pay rise, he wants to play week in week out which with us he will get, at Chelsea he may not be a regular starter which could damage his international ambitions, every player has a price but with him id say 40 million about right at this moment.

Antonio is more valuable to us than Payet on performances this season.

Hi OTB
My point before I was so rudely interrupted was that Bilic and our coaches missed an opportunity of trying Moses at RB when Bilic had the idea of trying our leading scorer there.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing though before my regular stalkers try to tell me that.

(This is a disclaimer. The thoughts of Willtell are only opinions for a forum discussion so please feel free to disagree. But if you want to be a keyboard warrior just fuck off!)

1. It's the sun..........

2. Antonio should be treated as priceless or if not more priceless than Payet imo

OTB

I'd also suggest that, as I have mentioned regarding the likes of Feghouli, Nordveit etc, a player often plays better when the whole team are playing well and with confidence. I would suggest that you could throw a fairly average player into the Chelsea team at the moment and he'd look and play far better than say for instance for Hull.

I liked Moses, but he wasn't as motivated for us as he is for them. That's the curse of being out on loan for years on end.

You just can't help yourself, can you?

You should let the board know when you're next over for a game, so we can all buy you a drink mate.

Re: Chelsea Want Antonio...???
Yes perhaps you are but I have better things to do so knowing you like to do things on your own I'll leave you to it.
